This weekend sees fashion pack from across the world descend upon the capital for the start of the UK’s biggest fashion week. Its been a fantastic summer for the city with the worlds eyes on London thanks to the Jubilee and the Olympics.
London Fashion Week of course, doesn’t look to disappoint – far from it. As always Somerset House has come alive and is buzzing full of fashionistas and has demonstrated some spectacular catwalk shows by both home-grown and international talent.
Felder and Felder is an example of such talent. The German label founded by sisters Daniella and Anette, the label channels a delicate, almost eerie aesthetic with sheer draping in a colour palette of cream, nude, grey and black forming the basis of the collection.
Speaking about the inspiration behind their Spring/Summer designs, the sisters described their visions and influences. “Harmony within disharmony creates illusion; expect the unexpected” they explained “We are intrigued by contrasts, maybe because we are twins.”
The illusion created on the catwalk was whimsical, with soft draping and floating dresses, jackets and shirts placing a stark emphasis upon femininity. The odd splash of colour in shades of blue, and teal, alongside some delicate monochrome animal prints and two-piece suits however, added a modern edge to a somewhat ethereal collection.
